Sometimes in the Summertime....

Sometimes

in the Summertime....

it is too hot for "real PJs" so I dress the kids in Daddy's big t-shirts.

Sometimes

in the Summertime...

our quick trip to say "goodnight to the lake" is the opposite of quick.

Sometimes we forget to say "goodnight to the lake" because we're so caught up
catching up with our neighbors.

And, sometimes

in the Summertime...

I swing by my sissa's house and grab "the" (her) Costco card so that I can pretend I'm her for the
afternoon.

And sometimes, before I leave her casa, I pull open the fridge door with the hopes that I'll find a
refreshing bevvie inside.

Sometimes

in the Summertime...

I not only find a refreshing bevvie inside (a lemon fresca), but

I also find a salted caramel too.

Sometimes

in the Summertime...

I pause and feel REALLY FULL FREE AND HAPPY about my summertime sometimes.

Who, me?

I can't believe you all think I'M the uptight one.

Just because I've spent the past two weekends lying flat on the hard wood floor trying to catch a deep breath, because that, I've found through hours of trial and error, is the only way I can catch a deep breath. But only on the weekends. When I have enough time to even consider thinking about breathing.
Just because you are all waking up this morning in Florida. Where you are probably sweating. And not because you went to sleep last night in a head to toe fleece outfit. And not because you have to wear a hat and mittens and crank the heat in the house. But because well it's spring and supposed to be warm. Or hot. And you're probably going to go to the beach today. And running your fingers through the sand and probably even drink something with loads of ice cubes in it just to get some feeling of cool-ness. But I am here in my wool socks looking but not quite touching the deceiving sunny day.

What has all THAT got to do with me being the uptight one? I ask.

On her day.

To my sister. You really just might be everyone's favorite Auntie.

Which might be why your nephew DW told me that we should buy you a car for your birthday.

"Like a real car?"

"Yeah mom. A. Real. Car."

Duh.

***

Thanks for spicing up our world.

We love you lots. Happy Day.

P.S. Your present will arrive at some point. And, though you really are the best.
It ain't a car....

Bloganniversaire

Happy 1 year to the sistership.

Whodaeva' thought it would still be around (and going strong) a year later?

In honor of the one year anniversary - I'd like to post a few pictures of blog posts that never materialized due to one reason or another (two kids with pneumonia, dying fish...not sure what got in the way - but trust me, it was something...)
"Blog post: Monkeys in my bed!!!"

"Blog post: Things we Knead"
"Blog post: Giving Up: She did, so I can too, right?!"
"Blog post: McMurphy"
"Blog post: The Eye of the Bronx Tiger"
"Blog post: What I really have for breakfast during girl scout cookie season"

"Blog post: Eating yellow (and red, blue, green, purple) SNOW"

Had to unload these pickies

as tomorrow brings more pictures

many more stories and

more sistership.

I hope.

To us!!!

Remeberies....

There are some moments that just need to be captured, and then they will be immortalized through time. These moments are not only in photo or video, but also in our memories. We are doing so many amazing things every day, I wonder what small moments, or sayings, we will be talking about when we are old. I was recalling a story the other day about a very stubborn Leen who proclaimed “I can do what I can do!!” I am not even sure what she could or would or was attempting TO do, but I will always remember that was her statement. The other day I was also telling Mads about the days of gas. I believe it was also our little Leen who believed “gas” to be a very delicious peppermint patty that was ALWAYS obtained whenever Granny would fill up the tank at the “gas” station. Then one day when there was no “gas” (it must have been around the time that debit/credit cards were accepted, and there was no longer a need to go INTO the store), Leen learned the real truth…I can’t wait to see what comes up in our crazy world and what the little ones around us will interpret. So much fun, so little time to write about it!!
Good luck tonight campers, I have more bugs in my house then you probably have in your tents!!! XOXO

Special 'Sisters' of all kinds...

As I was about to sign on and create a post. I realized that I would be posting under Mark... Now one might ask how did Mark get access to Sistership? That would be my mistake of bookmarking the site. Well, lets face it.. if he could be, he would be a sister... Although he pokes fun at us, he loves reading our blog

Happy Birthday to Eileen
You are now in New Orleans,
Is it a sweet Betty that you wish
Or just a hug and a kish???
Either way,
Today is your day...
~~~~~~
Enjoy and we'll celebrate soon.
XOXO
Sticker Tag
Tomorrow is a Xavey Day.  I love Xavey Days and I think he does too.
I can't wait to smooch his soft cheeks.
Before he arrives, I will hide all the stickers from Dec...
Nothing Like A Sister
My plan is always this: try not to rely on my sisters too much.
But, my plan never works.
And to all a good night...
Launch Party (for one)
3/21/09
Dear All,
Here I am. Well, here we are actually. I seem to be the one among us with the most time on my hands (or else I am just really good and not doing things) so I thought I'd kick off the first official "blog" for my sisters and perhaps the occasional guest appearance by our Annie (?), Mimi (?) who knows!
I put up a picture of the "happiness wall" and maybe you can find your, or your offsprings, face in it. We (the pictures and I) are celebrating the first entry. I am eating chicken nuggets. They are watching.
Add on when the mood hits ya (I have found drinking coffee at dinnertime can make this happen). I'll share all my secret passwords with you because you are my sisters- and my Annie and Mimi- and we do things like that. Right? If I send you my passwords you'll be able to check my email too, but don't do that.
Smooooooooch,
e
